It’s me and poetry again.

I was quite looking forward to Sappho. While I hadn’t read any of her poetry before, I was curious since it was a name I had heard a lot. Also, it is so rare that it has survived so long and that it was passed down through time to us.

Unfortunately, I preferred the story around the poetry more than the actual poetry. Probably this is another one of those “it is not you it is me” kind of things. I thought it was rather simple and the metaphors didn’t work for me.

The author

After a day of work, Marjolein likes to wind down with a book or two, or five! Unapologetic reader of at the very least three books at any given time, she apparently is unable to settle on a favorite genre.

She might pause her audiobook just long enough to discuss books online.
