It’s 10.30 PM already, and I am finally done working for the day – so this will be a rather short update. It’s still very busy out here, so not that much time for reading. How to be a Woman was the only book I finished this week – and I didn’t even enjoy it…

Synopsis:
Rachel catches the same commuter train every morning. She knows it will wait at the same signal each time, overlooking a row of back gardens. How to be a Woman is an odd book. I read it in 2014 and it was quick read but it’s not one I’d call a serious read. I also think this may have been aimed at a different age group / background – I couldn’t really connect with it, and I would hazard a guess that the book has dated quickly.

I thought it was a quick read – although her humor was not really my style. However, I totally do not recognize myself in any of her descriptions. So I couldn’t connect at all. I doubt it was really written for today’s twenty-somethings…

No, it really wasn’t written for a wide readership. The focus was very much on her peers of a similar age and background.

I enjoyed Girl on the Train, but I watched the movie so quickly after reading that I can’t remember the differences and similarities. 😬

I was very excited about it when I first got the book. But now we are years further and I still haven’t read it nor seen the movie. I hope I will enjoy it though!

I did the same thing with Gone Girl. Got my copy, but I was too busy to read it.

Gone girl is another book that has been on the TBR for ages. I also selected it for Halloween Bingo (for the movie square I believe), so I hope to finally read it in the coming months…
