I feel bad for taking so long to finish Death’s End. But for me, I consider this no light reading and usually this results in me reading when I have more time to really sit down and read – basically during a vacation.
That’s not to say that I don’t enjoy the series. It is one of the best I have read in recent years. I have enjoyed it a lot ever since I first read The Three Body Problem, which was my first venture into Chines science fiction and was an immediate success.
Death’s End should only be read after the previous two books, and it makes a worthy closing piece for the series. This is Game of Thrones but with the entire universe (and then some) as the playing field. A lot happens in Death’s End, and as the centuries proceed eras come and go. One thing I particularly liked was the hits that were given via the fairy tales, it was something so meticulously crafted. (I almost felt a bit sorry that the final clue was solved in the end, because I think it would have been a perfect fit for the series if it would not have been found at all).
The whole series is certainly recommended, but take your time as this is no easy beach read!
