A Slip Under The Microscope – another Little Black Classics, was still the only work of H.G. Wells I have read so far. Maybe, I should have read more, considering that I like science fiction a lot. The three stories that were included in the Sea Raiders, with deep-sea creatures taking it out on a small coastal town among other things, were quite okay but except for the last one about a magic shop, they didn’t leave much of an impression on me.

  1. Rifftrax (the same guys who did the Mystery Science Theatre 3000) did a job on the movie version of the Magic Shop. It wasn’t pretty.

There should be a couple of big collections of Wells’ short stories if you want to dip your toes into his stuff without committing to full on novels.

  2. I am not sure yet where I want to go with H.G Wells. The short stories I read so far where not great, so I don’t know if I want to go and read more of those, or rather would try something a little bit longer… I haven’t made my mind up yet…

After a day of work, Marjolein likes to wind down with a book or two, or five! Unapologetic reader of at the very least three books at any given time, she apparently is unable to settle on a favorite genre.

She might pause her audiobook just long enough to discuss books online.
