Just Act Normal

Rating: 3 out of 5.

So, I don’t follow Pie Comics online. I vaguely remembered reading the first collection, Book Learnin‘, a couple of years ago and that there were not enough books in a book called Book Learning. Fast forward a couple of years and I am looking for something to read that is quick and easy and preferably a bit funny as well.

Just Act Normal ticks all those boxes, but not much more than that. The style is not really for me, and while I thought some of the comics were mildly funny, it was not as funny as I had hoped. A little bit of escapism, but I am afraid it didn’t work that well for me.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a free electronic copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

  1. Is it a kids book? Anyways, looks like it probably wouldn’t work for me, either.

And a side question: I really like the name of your blog. Makes me think of the phrase “hive mind”. Does it have to do with that at all? 🤠

  2. This comment is about WP in general, not the book.

In my feed, I see the first couple of sentences and it shows 3 gold stars with no faded out ones. Once I actually visit your site, I see the 3green, 2 white. I find this interesting because several people, using the WP app, have had some issues with viewing my stars today. It feels like WP is messing around with crap under the hood without telling anyone and generally screwing all of us over.

Thanks. I just needed to vent.
