Rating: 4 out of 5.

I couldn’t read this without hearing the song from Horrible Histories. Either way this was a very interesting read. I have read some Plato before for school, but never his more famous work on Socrates. Here he really tries to keep the style rather simple – for he is accused of bedazzling the audience with mighty words – while he makes a case for truth and knowledge.

  1. It is impossible to read about certain topics without Horrible Histories songs popping into my head.

    1. Absolutely. Just yesterday I saw a trailer for the new David Copperfield movie (I haven’t read the book) and ever since I have been stuck with the Charles Dickens song in my head.

“And David Copperfield working in a factory, I must admit that that was really me-e-e-e-e-e-e”

  2. Thank you for sharing this! I’d never heard of the Horrible History song, but I have a feeling I’ll be binging some of their youtube videos now. ❤️🐝

    1. Perfect! Their songs are amazing. They have a couple which are really, really great. I find it difficult to really have a favorite, but the Charles Darwin Evolution song set to David Bowie’s Changes is certainly one of them! Enjoy!

After a day of work, Marjolein likes to wind down with a book or two, or five! Unapologetic reader of at the very least three books at any given time, she apparently is unable to settle on a favorite genre.

She might pause her audiobook just long enough to discuss books online.
